The Bombers are pleased to welcome back Merv Keane to their List and Recruiting team.

Keane, a three-time premiership player with Richmond, was previously Essendon’s Senior Recruiting Manager for over a decade and has extensive experience within the talent identification space.

In 2019, Keane was awarded AFL Life Membership under the provision of ‘Special Service to the Game’ after more than 48 years of exceptional commitment to football.

“It is a privilege to be back at Essendon and I look forward to adding value to the footy club and the recruiting department every day,” Keane said.

Over that time, Keane has coached Essendon’s reserves, Sturt in the SANFL, Williamstown in the VFL, Calder Cannons and Western Jets before joining the Bombers’ recruiting team in 2007.

General Manager of List and Recruiting Adrian Dodoro was thrilled to have Keane back with the List and Recruiting team.

“Merv provides over four decades of football experience as a player, coach and recruiter so we are delighted to have his intel back at the club,” Dodoro said.

“We are very excited to have Merv back at the Bombers and supporting our National Recruiting Manager Rob Forster-Knight.”
