Essendon has named its side to face St Kilda at RSEA Park on Friday, March 3.

The Bombers' final hitout before the 2023 Toyota AFL Premiership Season will see the side take in 26 players, down from 34 used in last week's match simulation against the Suns.

First-year small forward Alwyn Davey Jnr has been named on the interchange as he presses his case for a round one debut, while Anthony McDonald-Tipungwuti is also edging closer to completing a remarkable comeback story from retirement, starting in the forward pocket.

Dons fans will get to see another small forward in second-year sensation Jye Menzie, who'll strut his stuff after impressing with three goals against the Suns, while post-season recruits Sam Weideman and Will Setterfield have both been named to start on the field.

First bounce for the match is at 4.10pm AEDT.

Attendance at RSEA Park is free, however, fans wanting to come to the game are encouraged to arrive early as gates to the ground will be closed once capacity is reached.
