The Bombers are delighted to welcome Quinton Narkle on board as a VFL player for the 2023 season.
The former Geelong midfielder brings a wealth of AFL experience that will be highly influential to the group, having played 41 games over five years at the Cats.
“We are very excited to bring someone in of Narkle’s calibre for the 2023 season,” VFL Manager Bernard Shepheard said.
“He is an extremely talented individual and will be an influential member of the group moving forward.”
Narkle himself is ready to settle in at the NEC Hangar and comes in fresh from a full pre-season with the Richmond Tigers after trialling as an SSP selection.
The 25-year-old is excited to join the team and help lead Essendon’s VFL group to success both on and off the field.
“Fortunately, I have had the opportunity to spend time in the AFL system, which I hope will allow me to hit the ground running with the VFL program,” Narkle said.
“I am really excited to get stuck in and get to know all the boys well.
“I am prepared to work hard and provide the group with everything I have got.”
Narkle’s signing will feature the 25-year-old spending time in the admin department, supporting Essendon's new Indigenous Player Development Manager.
“It’s great that I will be able to provide input in this space,” he said.
“For myself, being able to help guide the younger boys is something that I am really looking forward to doing.”
With the season fast approaching, Bombers fans will be excited to see the midfielder run out in the red and black.
Essendon’s VFL season kicks off on March 26, with the side facing GWS in a round one clash at the NEC Hangar.
