Bombers esports has announced the transfer of Victor ‘FBI’ Huang to the Golden Guardians Academy team in the North American region.
Following FBI's dominant Split 1 OPL performance, GGS management contacted the Bombers to express its interest in signing the superstar AD Carry.
The Bombers then granted permission for Huang to exit his contract and transfer to the American team.
Head of esports Nathan Mathews said he was disappointed to lose Huang, who played a pivotal role in the Bombers claiming their first OPL title.
"There is no denying that this is a major loss for the team but I could not be any more proud of FBI and the opportunity he is receiving," Mathews said.
"When you recruit the very best players in the region, it is only a matter of time before other teams come knocking.
"Losing three out of six members to international opportunities is a testament to the quality of players the organisation has employed."
Huang said he was grateful for the Bombers' support in 2019.
"I would like to thank my teammates for the incredible split we had this year. They are some of the best players and people I have ever worked with," Huang said.
"A big thank-you to the Bombers management and organisation for their support throughout my time with them."
"It was not an easy decision to leave the team but I felt that this was an opportunity I could not afford to miss. I am grateful to the Bombers for happily orchestrating this transfer, and wish them the best of luck for Split 2."
Huang follows Hyunjin 'Balkhan' Choi and Scott 'Westonway' Farmer as the third Bomber to be transferred to an international team.
The replacement AD Carry will be announced in the next few weeks.
