The AFL has announced the fixtures for round one of the 2023 Smithy’s VFL and rebel VFLW seasons.
Both competitions will commence the weekend of March 24-26, aligning with round two of the 2023 Toyota AFL Premiership season.
Essendon's VFL side will host the GWS Giants at the NEC Hangar on Sunday, March 26 at 2.05pm to close out round one.
The 2023 rebel VFLW season commences on Saturday, March 25, with six matches scheduled across a bumper opening weekend.
The VFLW side will take on the Box Hill Hawks at 11am, also at the NEC Hangar where the Bombers are set to unfurl their 2022 Premiership flag.
All matches in the 2023 Smithy’s VFL and rebel VFLW seasons will be live streamed free via the AFL website (afl.com.au) and AFL Live Official App. Further broadcast details will be confirmed at a later time.
Where Smithy’s VFL matches are ticketed, entry is $10 for adults, $5 for concession holders and kids under 15 are free. Some venues don't charge for entry. For VFL matches played as curtain-raisers and curtain-closers at AFL venues, AFL ticketing prices apply.
Entry to rebel VFLW matches is free. Where venues host VFL and VFLW double-headers, entry fees will apply after half time of the VFLW match.
