Josh Green could provide a further boost to the Dons small forward stocks if he’s named in the side to play Hawthorn on Saturday night.
The former Brisbane player was left out of Bombers final JLT Community Series match against Geelong as a precaution after his foot was stood on.
He returned to take on the Cats VFL side on Friday night and was impressive with four goals.
“He has been a super recruit to date,” Performance Coach Hayden Skipworth said.
“His pressure has been really good, he obviously hits the scoreboard for us as well.
“He looked really sharp and dangerous around goal and he also passed a couple off.
“His performance tonight warrants selection, we’ve got some really good small forwards at the moment. He’s right in the mix to be part of that.”
Tom Bellchambers was on modified game time but got through his first game since knee surgery unscathed.
“He looked really good, he came on at quarter time. He competed well in the ruck, clunked a few around the ground and he hit the scoreboard as well,” Skipworth said.
“It was a really impressive first hit out for him.
“He’ll probably need another week or two, he didn’t play a full game so I presume he’ll play a full game next week and from there it’ll be up to ‘Woosha’ [John Worsfold] when he brings him back in the side.”
