Two Bombers have received high praise from teammates after being nominated in two categories for the 2022 Season Seven AFLPA MVP Awards.
Bonnie Toogood has been chosen by her peers for the Best Captain Award alongside Steph Cain, the 24-year-old co-captain has also been nominated for MVP joining Maddy Prespakis and Daria Bannister.
While Bannister has been nominated for Most Courageous, as well as MVP.
Stephanie Wales is also in contention for Best First-Year player.
Both Bannister and Toogood made the move to Essendon for Season Seven, Bannister coming across from North Melbourne, and Toogood from Western Bulldogs. Both have played integral roles in the inaugural Essendon side. Bannister ended the year on the top of the Dons' scoreboard with eight goals, while Toogood lead the charge alongside Steph Cain, captaining the side to a stand out first season.
The award winners will be announced tonight at the W Awards.
