Tennis fever has hit the Bombers with trio Angus Monfries, Cale Hooker and Jake Melksham set to attend the Australian Open next weekend.

The players will take part in a number of signing sessions and KIA activities on Saturday 21st of January, before attending the night session of play at Rod Laver Arena.

During the day, the trio will be participating in the KIA longest rally competition at Federation Square from 3pm, before heading to Grand Slam Oval at Melbourne Park to participate in the KIA driving simulator.

Co-major sponsor of the Essendon Football Club, KIA plays a key role in the Australian Open each year, with close to 100 courtesy cars assisting with moving players, officials and guests around Melbourne.

Tennis Australia CEO Steve Wood praised the support of KIA to the running of one of Melbourne’s biggest events for the year.

“The Australian Open is the biggest sporting event in the world in January, and I’m pleased to again accept the fleet of KIA vehicles which will effectively keep the tournament moving over the next few weeks,” Wood said.
