After the Bombers’ 11-point defeat to Collingwood on Friday, head of medical services Megan Smith provides an update on our list’s health and highlights some individual performances.
Performance
Although Amelia Radford only played 45% game time, her GPS reflected very high numbers for a winger, with a work rate of 142 metres per minute and 27.7 per cent of her total distance classed as high-speed running.
Debutant Megan Ryan also had an excellent work rate for a ruck who also played behind the ball as a key defender.
Ryan recorded 141 metres per minute and 25.9 per cent of her distance was covered at high-speed.
From a total distance perspective, Georgia Gee once again led the way with 8.6km, with Cat Phillips not far behind with 7.6km.
Daria Bannister also had another impressive game for a small forward, covering 130 metres per minute at an intensity of 23.6 per cent.
Injury
Ellyse Gamble
Ellyse suffered a calf strain in the third quarter of our match against the Pies and didn’t return to the field. We will continue to assess the severity of the injury but unfortunately, it’s looking like Ellyse will miss four to six weeks.

Follow Alex’s collision on Friday, she suffered a cut to the eye but returned to the field for the second half. Alex will train fully this week and be available for selection.
