Pick 4: Gach Nyuon
“Gach is a Sudanese boy who is an athletic ruckman with a great vertical leap. He really evolved his game in all aspects this year given he hasn’t played a lot of footy as a younger player. Very athletic and is now starting to understand the game a lot more. One of those players that just kept improving each time he’s stepped out and the more he plays the better he’ll get.”
Dandenong Stingrays Talent Manager, Mark Wheeler told Inside Fooball
Pick 22: Anthony McDonald-Tipungwuti
“Anthony has been terrific since coming across three years ago. We brought him in from Gippsland and he moved in to Glenroy. He took his game to a new level. He was averaging above 20 disposals a game for the majority of the year. He really takes the game on across halfback and uses his speed. Anthony has exceptional agility; he’s very hard to tackle. He’s very strong one-on-one and he’s extremely tough, so he’s got a lot of characteristics that you look for in an AFL footballer.”
VFL Operations Manager, Matt Little
Pick 39: Will Hams
“A testament to Will’s character is his ability to fight, scrap and make the most of every opportunity that he gets. This was evident in his ability to get back to play football, get back to training and play three games in the AFL in 2015.”
Game Performance Manager, Mark Neeld
Pick 54: Tom Wallis
“He had an exceptional last half of the year – he wins the ball well, his pace is quite good, he’s strong, tough and kicks the ball well. He could play half-back; he could probably run through the wings or something like that. He had a couple of reasonable games early, then went on the ball for a while and his last probably eight weeks were very good.”
Calder Cannons Talent Manager, Ian Kyte told Inside Football
