After the Bombers’ two-point defeat to Richmond on Sunday, head of medical services Megan Smith provides an update on our list’s health and highlights some individual performances.
Performance
Co-captain Steph Cain was once again one of our best runners, covering 6.7km in total with 27.6% at high speed.
Cain also had a work rate of 133 metres per minute, considered high for a midfielder.
Even though she only played half of the game, Joanne Doonan also impressed with her intensity and work rate, covering 4.8km with 28% as highspeed running.
Midfielder Alana Barba was moved behind the ball this week and produced exceptional numbers for a defender.
Barba’s work rate was 14 above the top range, with 134 metres per minute, while her total distance was 8.9km, a match-high.
Injuries
Despite challenging conditions on Sunday, in great news for the club, we had no injuries to come out of the game.
The team will now prepare to take on the Pies on Friday at 3:10pm at the AIA Centre in a Grand Final Eve blockbuster against traditional rivals.
