David Zaharakis - Northern Knights' teammate of Essendon's first selection Michael Hurley - has also joined the Bombers after being selected at pick number 23 at today's NAB AFL Draft.
A quick, agile midfielder with a penetrating kick, Zaharakis also earned All Australian selection this season.
""We think he can add to the midfield - we had him ranked at 13 so it was good to get him at 23,"" Essendon list manager Adrian Dodoro said following the draft.
At selection 55, Essendon picked up Michael Still - another product of the Northern Knights.
""Michael is a 188cm key position player. He is 17-years-old - so at the bottom end of the age bracket - we wanted to bank one for the future,"" Dodoro said.
""He is a strong contested mark with a great work ethic so we look forward to his development over the next couple of years.""
With selection 67 Essendon took Tyson Slattery from West Adelaide - a running defender who is good in the air and at ground level. He was a South Australian Under 18 representative. Tyson is no relation to fellow Bomber Henry Slattery.
Essendon cast-off Tom Hislop was taken by Richmond at pick 58.
