A squad of 30 players that is in contention for selection for the 2022 rebel VFLW Team of the Year has been announced.

The final team will be named on Monday September 12, as part of the 2022 VFL and VFLW Awards. The awards will be live streamed from 7:00pm on the AFL website and AFL Live Official App.

Essendon has the most representatives in the squad, with five players from the premiership-winning team named. They include co-captains Georgia Nanscawen and Mia-Rae Clifford, and leading goalkicker Federica Frew.

The squad comprises 19 players who are on AFLW lists for the 2022 AFLW Season Seven.

The full list of club representation in the squad is – Carlton (two), Casey Demons (three), Collingwood (two), Darebin Falcons (two), Essendon (five), Geelong (three), Hawthorn (three), North Melbourne (two), Port Melbourne (two), Southern Saints (four), Western Bulldogs (one) and Williamstown (one).

Five Dons from the 2022 VFLW season have been names plus Olivia Barton and Jorja Borg who both now play for Essendon's AFLW side.
