Champion centre-half forward, Scott Lucas, will return to the Bombers' line up to play Adelaide on Friday night if he gets through tomorrow morning’s training session.

Coach, Matthew Knights, said Lucas has been meticulous in his rehabilitation and he has no hesitation in bringing the 248-game veteran straight back into the senior team.

“We have our last training session tomorrow and if he comes through with flying colours he will play on Friday night,” Knights said.

""The way he has attacked his rehabilitation has been excellent.

""His skin folds and his attention to detail for 10-weeks has been great so I have no hesitations in playing him but, if he pulls up a little tight or sore, we won't go with him.""

Lucas suffered a Grade 3 tear of the Posterior Cruciate Ligament (PCL) in Round 1 against North Melbourne and was placed on the long-term injured list.

""It's important expectation isn’t too high as Scott has been out for a while,"" Knights said.

""But because of the way he has prepared and where he plays, he will be able to give us decent minutes compared to another other player returning and I expect him to play well.""
