Essendon Football Club can confirm Nathan Lovett-Murray is recovering in hospital this morning after being involved in an altercation last night.

Nathan received a knife wound to his arm while defending himself and is currently having minor surgery to repair the damage.

He is expected to make a full recovery from the incident.

Victoria Police is investigating the matter and the club is not in a position to make any further comment at this stage.
