In its 150th anniversary year, the Essendon Football Club is delighted to announce an all-time membership record of 84,778 proud and passionate members in 2022.
The record-breaking milestone comes after record year-on-year growth across Essendon memberships in 2021, with the previous record set in 2019 (84,237 members).
Recognising the loyalty of the Bombers faithful through the Bomber Bonanza membership campaign in 2022, the Club ran an AFL-first initiative to truly change the life of one lucky Essendon member with a $150,000 cash prize.
The lucky winner will be announced at the Club’s member recognition round next week at the MCG when the Bombers do battle with Richmond.
Member recognition round is an opportunity to thank our incredible members for their commitment to the club for the 2022 season. The round will showcase some fantastic member stories from the 2022 season, with members enjoying exclusive offers on food, drinks, merchandise and much more.
Chief Executive Xavier Campbell paid tribute to the Club’s 84,778 members.
“Our members have shown tremendous support and commitment, particularly throughout our 150 year anniversary in 2022,” Campbell said.
“It is important for us to give back to those who have given so much to the Essendon Football Club. This was particularly recognised this year in an industry-first initiative in 2022 with the Bomber Bonanza campaign, which will culminate at our member recognition round next week against Richmond at the MCG.
“With our history making entrance into the AFLW competition in just two weeks, there’s also no better time to show your support in getting behind our AFLW team so sign up today.”
