""We need to get back on the winners list, we had our best game last match and nearly got the points and we need to continue that on,"" Kevin Sheedy explained before training today.
""It is such a close season, we just have to get back to winning to have any sort of chance.
""We have played pretty good footy for the last month except that hour in Adelaide, the players were really annoyed with that and they showed it in the way they played against West Coast.""
The Bombers trained sharply during the 90-minute session, and with up to four changes suggested heading into the match against St Kilda, a number of players will be looking to put their hand up for selection.
""We are not far away, maybe one or two players, from having our best side out there. We want to keep most of the young players in.
And how does Sheedy read the form of his next opponent?
""With their injuries, they have probably been inconsistent, a bit like ourselves and if you haven’t got your best side out there most teams are pretty level.""
Jason Johnson will play on Friday night after a cheekbone injury, while Dean Rioli is a chance to return to the Bombers after playing well for Bendigo yesterday.
Kepler Bradley is also a good chance to play, after he was taken to hospital for precautionary tests after the Eagles match with bleeding at the front of his eye, an injury similar to one James Hird copped against Adelaide last season.
""Hird missed a week twelve months ago and I don’t think Bradley’s is as bad as that,"" Sheedy explained.
Dustin Fletcher trained well after being a late withdrawal from the Round 12 match, while Ty Zantuck left the track early this afternoon and may be in some doubt for Friday night.
