Essendon will be without deputy vice-captain Andrew McGrath for its round 20 clash with North Melbourne on Sunday.
McGrath has entered the AFL's health & safety protocols, forcing the 24-year-old's omission from the side.
The Dons have named an eight-man extended bench, with Jye Menzie, Archie Perkins, Nick Bryan, Massimo D'Ambrosio and James Stewart all vying for selection.
Despite being subbed out last week with internal bruising, defender Mason Redman has been named to start on-field.
The medical sub who replaced Redman in Brayden Ham has not been named in the Dons' extended side.
Essendon's final side to take on the Kangaroos will be announced on Friday, July 29 at 5pm AEST.
