Former Docker Zac Clarke is officially a Bomber after signing with the club during the AFL Pre-Season Supplemental Selection Period.
In a move which also finalises Essendon's playing list for 2019, the new deal will see Clarke don the sash until at least the end of 2019.
Selected with pick 37 in the 2008 national draft, the experienced ruckman spent nine years at Fremantle where he played 101 games and kicked 46 goals.
Delisted by the Dockers in 2017, the 28-year-old spent 2018 playing for Subiaco in the WAFL where the side won the premiership.
Clarke said he was thrilled to reignite his AFL career with the Bombers in 2019.
“I’m really grateful for the opportunity to play with a club like Essendon and thank them for their belief in me as a player," Clarke said.
“I grew up in Melbourne, so it’s great to be moving back home after 10 years away.
“I’m keen to hit the ground running over the pre-season and want to prepare as best as I can and learn the Bombers’ exciting game style as much as possible from the playing group and coaches.
“I’m looking forward to forming some genuine connections within the Club and can’t wait to get stuck into it from Monday onwards.”

To be eligible to be selected in the AFL Pre-Season Supplemental Selection Period, a player must have previously nominated for the national draft or previously been on the list of a club.
GM of List and Recruiting Adrian Dodoro said Clarke would provide the Bombers with additional depth in the ruck.
“Zac had a terrific year at Subiaco in the WAFL this year, where he featured in all 24 games and ultimately played in a premiership,” Dodoro said.
“We feel he has a lot to offer as an experienced ruckman who also has the ability to push forward if needed.
“Zac will be able to give us some additional ruck depth and we’re hopeful he can push for senior selection early next season.”
