Essendon will kick of the 2014 home and away season against North Melbourne at Etihad Stadium on Friday March 21 in the second week of a split Round 1.
The Bombers will take part in plenty of prime time action in 2014 with six Friday night matches including a blockbuster against reigning premier Hawthorn in Round 2, Geelong in Round 15 and Richmond in Round 20.
The club will also feature in six Saturday night matches throughout the season with 15 matches set to be screened on free to air television.
Essendon will take on archrivals Collingwood, Carlton and Richmond twice throughout the season all at the MCG.
The Bombers will travel five times throughout the season with a Round 4 clash against Fremantle at Patersons Stadium, Round 8 against Brisbane at the Gabba, Round 12 against GWS at the Showgrounds, Round 16 against Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval and a match up against Sydney at the SCG in Round 19.
Newly appointed senior coach Mark Thompson and recruit Paul Chapman will have to wait until Round 15 to clash with their old side Geelong with a Friday night Etihad Stadium fixture locked in for June 27.
The annual ANZAC Day clash against Collingwood will take place in Round 6 on a Friday afternoon at the MCG with the Dreamtime at the G clash against Richmond slotted for Round 11 on Saturday May 31.
In total Essendon have eight day/twilight matches and 13 matches at night including a Sunday night fixture against Carlton in Round 3.
As the AFL ventures into the new Sunday night time slot in 2014 the Bombers have been scheduled for a 7.40pm start on Sunday April 6 against Carlton at the MCG.
Round 23 will once again be a floating fixture with the date and time of the clubs match up against Carlton at the MCG to be determined at a later date.
