Trade week is yet to get officially underway, but Essendon is dominating the headlines.

Three players have been linked to the Club.

Here is a look at what they could bring to the Bombers.

Devon Smith (GWS)

In his six seasons with the Giants, Smith played 109 games – only Callan Ward, Tom Scully, Toby Greene, Dylan Shiel and Jeremy Cameron have played more – and kicked 100 goals.

Smith finished joint runner-up in GWS's 2014 best and fairest award and sixth in 2015, but knee problems have restricted him to 30 senior games over the past two seasons.

A posterior cruciate ligament injury sidelined him during the Giants' 2017 finals campaign and his manager, Ned Guy of McDonald Sports, told NAB AFL Trade Radio on Wednesday he wanted to join a club with a strong rehabilitation program.

Adam Saad (Gold Coast)

The 23 year old has played 48 games including 22 last season. 

Saad led the league for running bounces in 2017. His 93 running bounces saw him sit 29 clear of the second placed Steven Motlop (Geelong). 

The Victorian played with West Coburg, Calder Cannons and Coburg (VFL) before he landed a spot on the Suns list via the 2015 Rookie Draft.

Jake Stringer (Western Bulldogs)

The 23 year old has played 89 games for the Bulldogs.

His manager has confirmed an announcement on his preferred Club will be made ‘sooner rather than later’ with Essendon and Geelong leading the race.

Stringer kicked 56 goals in 2015 and 42 goals in the Bulldogs premiership year in 2016.

He was named in the All Australian side in 2015 and is a three time winner of the Bulldogs leading goal kicker award.
