Essendon will return from its round 12 bye with thee consecutive Friday night matches, following the AFL's fixture update for rounds 13 to 15 today.

It all begins at the home of footy on June 10, where the Bombers will host Carlton in their 150-year anniversary game.

The blockbuster match - the first Friday fixture between the traditional rivals since 2013 - will include a once-in-a-generation celebration and other festivities before the bounce as the club honours its rich history.

The in-form Saints will follow in an away game at Marvel Stadium, before the Bombers head west to face the Eagles at Optus Stadium as part of a Friday night double-header.

The fixture details for the remaining eight rounds will be released in stages by the AFL at later dates.
