Fourteen AFL-listed players suited up for the VFL Bombers in Sunday's round four clash with Port Melbourne at ETU Stadium.
AFL development coach Leigh Tudor gives his take on how each of them performed in the 25-point loss.
Kaine Baldwin
Key stats: Five goals, 12 disposals, six marks
"He presented really well and was really good one-on-one. He kicked five, worked well with 'Jonesy' deep in the forward line and had a pretty impressive game."
Cody Brand
Key stats: 13 disposals, four marks
"'Brandy' was a little bit off compared to the last couple of weeks. His man got out on him a couple of times, which was unusual because he's had a good start to the year. He knows exactly what he did and how it happened, so he'll work on that during the week."
Nick Bryan
Key stats: 12 disposals, 44 hitouts, four marks, five inside 50s
"'Bryza' competed really hard, especially in the first half where he was fantastic and taking contested marks. He had a lot of hitouts again and is probably third in the competition for them, but we're not taking full advantage of his hitouts with a young midfield."
Josh Eyre
Key stats: One goal, five disposals, two marks
"Eyre was quiet on the stats sheet. We had four talls there, so he had to play a bit higher, but he set up a few goals for us, flew, brought the ball to ground and competed when it was his turn. He'll be working on trying to get more of the ball."
Aaron Francis
Key stats: One goal, 13 disposals, four tackles, two marks
"He competed really hard, but just didn't finish off his good work. He dropped four or five marks that on any day he'd take. There was a pretty strong wind, so when Port Melbourne had the wind advantage, he played as a winger going back into defence and he mopped up well. He had a couple of centre bounces in the last quarter, so it was a very versatile game from him."
Brayden Ham
Key stats: 20 disposals, five marks, six tackles, three clearances
"'Hammy' had a strange game as the standover emergency. He didn't have a lot of game time and didn't really play the last quarter. He got the ball enough, and when he won it he drove his legs and set us up with a few score involvements."
Tom Hird
Key stats: 11 disposals, six tackles, two marks
"'Hirdy' didn't get a lot of the ball. He quick-kicked a fair bit, so he'll be working on using his shape a bit more this week, so that will help him and the team with our ball movement. He defended well with six tackles, so his work-rate was good, but he'll be working on getting more of the ball and being cleaner inside."
Harry Jones
Key stats: One goal, 11 disposals, three marks, three tackles
"Harry was classy, especially early. He's a fantastic team player and set up Baldwin with blocks and just being a total pro. I love the way he plays. He flew for his marks and launched at the ball. His goalkicking was a little bit off, but that'll come with more practice. It was a good first game for him and he got all the running numbers up that we needed him to."
Alastair Lord
Key stats: One goal, 15 disposals, three marks
"'Lordy' got a little bit of the ball again as a half-back. His run and carry was good, and he set us up a fair bit out of defence. Defensively he was a lot better this week. He was all over his man, so not a bad game from Lordy."
Cian McBride
Key stats: Three disposals, two tackles, six clearances
"Cian's another one who's had a good start to the year, but he was a bit quieter this week. He battled hard but didn't have much influence on the game."
Garrett McDonagh
Key stats: 13 disposals, two marks
"Garrett defended OK at times. There were times where his opponent got him, but he's still trying to learn the balance between attack and defence. He didn't impact the game a great deal, but he's working towards playing the way we want to play."
Anthony McDonald-Tipungwuti
Ket stats: One goal, four disposals, three tackles
"He kicked a goal but didn't really impact the game. He had a bit of a go inside in the last quarter when we were trying to get some bigger bodies in the midfield, but it was a quieter game for him."
Zach Reid
Key stats: 15 disposals, seven marks
"It was his third game back. He impacted the game and his defensive decisions were pretty good. He took seven marks and a few of those were intercepts. He's playing the way we know he can as a half-back who can come off (his man) and intercept. It was pleasing to see him get through pretty much a full game and influence it."
Tex Wanganeen
Key stats: Two goals, 13 disposals, four tackles
"Tex didn't get a lot of the ball, but when he did he was really classy and smart. He's been working on what he does at the fall of the ball, and he really impacted the game with his running patterns. We threw him on-ball late to try to make a difference, and he won a few clearances and was really good."
