The Unity Cup has officially kicked off for the 2015 season, with the first training session taking place at the True Value Solar Centre last week.

There was a fantastic turn out from teams including the Bharat Bombers Boys, Bharat Bombers Girls and the Singh Sabha Dons at the first training session with over 30 participants taking part.

Not only is this year the first year the Singh Sabha Sports Club will be involved with AFL and the Unity Cup, it is the first year an Indian girls team has entered.

The training session also included a tour of the world class facilities at the True Vale Solar Centre.

Founded in 2008 by Essendon Football Club and the Australian Federal Police, the Unity Cup focuses on strengthening ties between Police, Muslim, and other culturally and linguistically diverse communities (CALD), through a mutual appreciation of Australian Rules football.
