Essendon will enter November’s national draft with two selections inside the top twenty following the completion of the 2014 exchange period.
The Bombers will enter the draft with selections 17, 20, 62, 71, 89, 107 and 125.
List manager Adrian Dodoro said the club was pleased with its current position heading into next month’s draft.
“We have two top 20 selections in the draft and it is something that is very important for us going forward,” Dodoro said.
“Not being in the draft it was an opportunity to get some selections and strengthen our list."
“Even with the sanctions we have two top 20 picks so we now just need to make sure we get two good players with those selections and our future looks pretty good.”
Dodoro said they would be looking to simply find the best two players with their first two selections in the draft.
“We will pick the best two players at the draft as we will use our third selection to upgrade Patty Ambrose,” he said.
“During the trade period we have covered our backline, our midfield, our ruck and we go to the draft with two selections so we are not in a bad spot.”
The draft will take place on the Gold Coast on the evening of Thursday November 27.
