Essendon VFL has the depth to cover the loss of defender Ariel Steinberg in this Sunday’s Preliminary Final.
Steinberg will spend some time on the sidelines after a heavy concussion in last weekend's Semi-Final win.
But, VFL Coach Hayden Skipworth admits he has several options up his sleeve.
“We’re lucky to have some depth in our VFL list this year,” he said.
“Josh Freezer, obviously has been with the club for six years, he’s in contention.
“As well as Jack Langford, he’s played forward and back this year.”
Alternatively the VFL Dons could play just two tall defenders, opting to add another midfielder or small defender to the lineup.
“While the other option for us to go a bit smaller and play Tayte Pears and Jimmy Ferry as the two talls,” he said.
The Bombers have selected a strong squad for Sunday’s clash against Williamstown.
Skipper Marcus Marigliani is a welcome addition back into defence, while Nick O’Brien is a will add to the Bombers midfield depth.
