A moving performance from Vika and Linda Bull was the pinnacle of another outstanding Women’s Luncheon for The Long Walk on Friday.
In front of a 700-plus crowd at The Atrium, Flemington Racecourse guests enjoyed the glorious voices of the musical duo to celebrate 10 years of The Long Walk.
The event, proudly supported by the Victorian Electoral Commission, raised important funds for The Long Walk’s Educational Programs, including Walk the Talk. Hosted by MC Jodie Sizer, guests were also treated to a performance from Illana Atkinson and a witty presentation from milliner Waltraud Reiner.
The Long Walk is a charity inspired by Essendon legend Michael Long’s walk to Canberra in 2004 to get the lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people back on the national agenda. The charity’s purpose is to raise awareness for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander wellbeing.
Now in its tenth year, The Long Walk Women’s Luncheon is a celebration of the achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women. A unique, awareness-raising event, the luncheon brings together Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander and non-Aboriginal women from all walks of life to be inspired, network and to celebrate.
The Long Walk would also like to thank event support partners including Care Connect, SEMA, Outback Spirit and the Essendon Football Club.
