Essendon VFLW has selected a strong squad for Saturday’s Indigenous Round clash against Richmond at the Swinburne Centre.
The line-up boasts recruits and former AFLW players Cecilia McIntosh (Collingwood) and Hayley Trevean (Carlton, Geelong), who will don the sash for the first time, while reigning Brisbane Lions AFLW best-and-fairest Ally Anderson will play her second game for the Bombers.
Shae Audley, Georgia Nanscawen and Alex Morcom have been named to return alongside first-year recruits Jessica Stassi and Sian Wilson.
Arthurina Moreen and Lori Stepnell will look to continue their impressive form following last week’s five-point loss to Geelong in Colac.
Skipper Courtney Ugle will lead from the midfield (wing), supported by vice-captains Hayley Bullas (centre) and Simone Nalder (ruck).
Eloise Ashley-Cooper is the 23rd player for the second consecutive week.
The Bombers will be given a chance at redemption on Saturday, May 25 from 12pm at the Swinburne Centre as they search for their first win of the season after two narrow losses.
The match will precede Essendon VFL’s top-of-the-table clash with Richmond at 2:30pm.
