The Essendon Football Club's Windy Hill Venue has paid tribute to its 11 affiliated Sporting Clubs, with a feature wall promoting the Sporting Clubs as part of a $500,000 redevelopment at the Windy Hill Venue.
Lindsay Tanner, Essendon Football Club Chairman, was on hand to unveil the feature wall at a ‘Cocktail Party’ recently.
Windy Hill Venue General Manager, Alan Burton, said the Windy Hill Venue was proud of its affiliation with the 11 local Sporting Clubs.
“The Essendon Football Club is passionate about playing an integral role in the Community and with the sporting clubs and this is a fitting tribute,” Burton said.
“Our underlying philosophy focuses on strengthening communities through sport and the club is proud to support its 11 affiliated Sporting Clubs, enabling them to promote and develop community involvement through participation in their chosen sport.
"The Windy Hill Venue will again this year will distribute $150,000 in much needed funds to the 11 Sporting Clubs to bring its total contribution to just over $1.7m in the last 10 years.”
