In a historic moment for football in the Northern Territory, the Wadeye Magic Football Club will play its inaugural home game at Wadeye Football Oval.
The match will take place against the Ranku FC Eagles on Sunday January 12 from 2pm.
Wadeye, located in the Thamarrurr region 420km South-West of Darwin, is a remote Aboriginal community Essendon Football Club has partnered with for over five years.
Essendon ruckman Patrick Ryder wished the Magic all the best for their inaugural home match.
“Having recently visited Wadeye, I have seen first hand the influence and impact that football has on the community.”
“I wish them all the best for this historic moment and encourage the community to get behind the Magic.”
