Alwyn and Rhys' Territory adventure

To show the club's support for its Top End fans, Essendon sent Alwyn Davey and Rhys Magin to Darwin late last week.

The Bombers were to have played the Bulldogs in Darwin last Friday night but the game was changed to support the Bushfire Appeal.

On Thursday night Davey and Magin met with members of the Darwin Bombers supporter group, on Friday they visited local radio stations, attended the launch of the Territory Thunder (a new team that will play in Queensland) and held clinics at four local primary schools.

On Saturday the boys headed to Nguiu on Bathurst Island (which is part of the Tiwi Islands), north of Darwin, to attend the first ever home game of the Tiwi Bombers on their new oval.

The Tiwi Bombers are an Essendon affiliate club and easily defeated the Darwin Buffaloes in front of an excited home crowd with seemingly all 1450 locals watching on.
