Kevin Sheedy is forecasting a bumper start to Essendon’s home and away season.
The Bombers host Hawthorn, Collingwood (Anzac Day), Geelong (Country Game) and Richmond (Dreamtime) in the first ten rounds of the season.
With the Club passing the 50,000-member mark in record time, the Essendon Legend expects large crowds to flock to the early season games.
“We’ve got four of the biggest games any club will have this year,” Sheedy told SEN.
“At the start of this year you’re going to have Hawthorn in round one, Anzac Day, Country Game and then Dreamtime.
“There is four crowds of 80-95,000 – if you’re a young person at Essendon wanting to make it, or you’re a Bomber fan wanting to buy a ticket – how good is that?
“You’re going to have four of the biggest games in Australian football history by round 10.
“As a player you want to get out there because that’s big footy.”
Since 1997, more than 10 million fans have attended Essendon home games.
