The players are getting ready to meet their new teammates following the 2015 AFL Draft.
Essendon will go into November’s draft in a strong position after a successful trade period.
Despite losing key players in Jake Melksham and Jake Carlisle, the Club was able to secure Pick 5 and 25 meaning it will have four picks in the first two rounds.
Dyson Heppell praised the Club’s efforts during the trade period to ensure the best possible outcomes were reached.
“It’s disappointing losing them (Carlisle and Melksham),” Heppell said.
“I think we’ve done quite well out of it.
“We bring in Matthew Leuenberger and Craig Bird and hopefully they’ll add some real value to the group.”
Heppell said the Club will be selecting the best talent with its early selections.
“For us, we’ll probably just be taking the best player available,” Heppell said.
“From the sounds of things, it might be shaping up to be someone like a Darcy Parish, a bit of an exciting midfielder.
“There’s some exciting talent there and I have no doubt that we’ll get a couple of rippers with those picks.”
Essendon heads into the draft with picks 4, 5, 24, 25, 57, 80, 98 and 116.
