Jayden Laverde played the final nine games of Essendon’s 2015 season and in that time displayed the talent that made him a top 20 draft pick.
The 19 year old played ten VFL games before gaining his call-up to the senior side.
He got a taste of AFL football against Melbourne and North Melbourne before an encouraging two-goal performance against Port Adelaide.
But it was in the final six games where Laverde really shone.
In that time he averaged 16 possessions a game, including a 20-disposal effort against Adelaide.
He showed his potential as a high half forward and also spent time in the midfield.
With his first full pre-season under his belt, Jayden Laverde will be one to watch in 2016.
