Travis Colyer was one of Essendon’s best players during the first half of last season and shapes as an important figure in 2016.
The 24 year old has played 57 senior games in his six seasons in the AFL.
From round 14, 2014 through to round 11, 2015 Colyer played 22 straight games and looked to be establishing himself as one of Essendon’s most important players.
During that run of matches Colyer kicked 18 goals and was averaging 16 possessions per game.
Colyer’s line breaking speed was central to the Bombers wins against Hawthorn and St Kilda early in 2015.
But his season ended at the half way mark when he suffered a stress fracture in his foot following the match against West Coast.
New Coach John Worsfold has forecast a strong focus on attack in 2016 and Colyer could be central to that plan.
His pace has always been his strength, but stronger endurance and better finishing skills have made him an even more dangerous player.
