The year was 1995.

Paul Keating was Prime Minister.  Tina Arena was top of the charts and Dieter Brummer was Australia’s Most Popular Actor.

How times have changed.

But luckily some things remain.

1995 was the year The Bomber magazine was launched.  Proudly, 20 years on, The Bomber magazine remains important reading for Essendon fans.

In the lead up to the release of the latest edition, we’ll be taking a trip down memory lane and publishing extracts featured in various Bomber magazines from the last two decades.

The first edition was released in 1995 and featured Michael Long on the front cover.  He was on the comeback trail from a serious knee injury.

Inside the magazine there was a plug for Bomber Radio which was broadcast on 1116 on the AM dial.  That frequency is now home to SEN.

There were kicking and tackling tips from Assistant Coach David Wheadon and fans were encouraged to stay across the latest Essendon news by calling a special hotline at a cost of 70 cents per minute.
