Essendon Football club congratulates Tiwi Bombers captain Shane Tipuamantamerri on his recent NTFL Premier Division ‘Nichols Medal’ Best and Fairest win.

Known to many simply as ‘Tippa’, Tipuamantamerri has had a stellar individual season and has been a pivotal force in guiding Tiwi into this Saturday’s NTFL Premier Grand Final against St Mary’s.

Tipuamantamerri says winning the award is special.

"It’s a great honour to win the medal and be the first Tiwi Bomber to win it, It's a thrill and I'm proud of it."

Essendon Community Manager Cameron Britt said Tipuamantamerri’s contribution to football and community was a valuable one.

“Tippa has shown himself to be a champion footballer, but Essendon also acknowledges him as a champion mentor and role model for youth in the Tiwi community. Tippa is always very generous with his time when we visit the local community and is held in very high regard within our football club”.

Key staff members of Essendon Football club are travelling to Darwin this weekend to watch affiliate side the Tiwi Bombers compete in the Grand Final.
